"I believe I made these reservations with appropriate expectations. Holiday inn - nothing fancy but a clean room in an area that I was interested in. I was reluctant to pay what I did for a Holiday Inn - but realizing it is a prime location I went ahead and booked my reservations on line. I have traveled extensively for work and pleasure and can honestly say this was the worst room I have ever had. A smoking room (I never stay in them my fault for not double checking my on line reservations) but the smell of cigarettes had so permeated the room the clothes I left in my bag smelled of cigarette so intensely they had to be laundered. In addition the room smelled of mold and mildew. Mold was visible on the curtains, the rug felt moist underfoot and there was mildew in the bathroom. The toilet was dirty with pubic hairs. The nightstand had a pen - half chewed by a former guest The sheets barely covered the mattress and were stained. Natalie Bernardo the night manager could not provide us with another room as the hotel was sold out. She did her best to make us more comfortable by providing an ionizing machine that was to remove the odor - it was loud and did nothing to relieve the stench. The room was terrible we stood in shock trying to decide if we should sleep in the car or just put up with the room for a few hours. It was just past midnight on a Friday evening after a long day so we decided to just put up with it for a few hours and look for an alternative in the morning. Morning came soon enough as we were abruptly jarred out of bed at 6:00 with a false fire alarm. I will never stay at a holiday inn again."
